Competition Training

CrossFit is the fastest growing sport on the planet. Hundreds of thousands of people all over the world participate in “the sport of fitness”, aiming to smash their personal goals and records while getting to an elite level of fitness. The competitive element of CrossFit begins with the individual athlete, who is encouraged to push beyond their comfort zones; it’s about beating yourself, first and foremost. The rewards that arrive with this mentality are amazing physically, mentally and emotionally.

There are also those who wish to take their training to another level of intensity, via competition training. Whether you hope to become active in the local CrossFit competition scene, make it to the Regional level of the CrossFit Games Open competition, or want to make gains in the Olympic Weightlifting circuit, Competition Training at Ross Valley CrossFit can provide the programming, nutritional guidance, camaraderie and structure to make you a contender!

RVC’s Competitor Training is built around two programs: Ross Valley BarBell Club and “OX” Training.

  • Ross Valley Barbell Club meets every Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. These 90 min sessions focus exclusively on the Olympic Lifts (snatch & clean and jerk) as well as ancillary exercises that support these lifts. RVBBC is open to all RVC members, and is highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel more confident with the barbell, as well as those who wish to participate successfully in Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit competitions.
  • Auxiliary Training, also known as “OX” Training, is supplemental programming that is provided weekly, in coordination with RVC’s WOD training. OX training is designed for the athlete who wishes to be a competent competitor in CrossFit, whether in local competitions or the CrossFit Games Open. The OX programming averages 60 – 90 minutes a day in training time, in conjunction with RVC’s regular WOD. OX participation is open to all RVC members for $40 a month.
